Name: Leg Lifts

Purpose: To strengthen the lower abdominal muscles and reduce the base of support on the evolution chair in order to activate the postural muscles of the torso.

Starting Position: Begin in a proper seated position with both feet flat on the floor.

Execution: Lift one foot off the ground slightly and raise your knee towards the ceiling. Pause briefly before returning the raised foot back to the ground and repeat with the opposite leg. Attempt to maintain proper posture and balance with the reduced base of support.

Regression: Place one hand on a stable object (i.e. desk) for additional support when required. Attempt to reduce your dependence on your hands for stabilization as you become more comfortable.

Progression: Lift your foot higher off the ground. To further progress the exercise, extend your leg as strait as possible after lifting your foot off the ground.
